The Ruhrthaler Maschinenfabrik Schwarz & Dyckerhoff KG, M\u00fclheim\/Ruhr, delivered our diesel locomotive 34 to the German Navy, Kiel shipyard, presumably around 1942\/43. It was later sold to the Bremen construction company Siemer & M\u00fcller. After it was no longer needed there, locomotive 34 was transferred to Deinste together with locomotive 24 by DFKM members on 20 June 1981.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the original version built as a mine locomotive, diesel locomotive 34 originally had an open driver's cab. At Siemer & M\u00fcller the locomotive was equipped with it roofed driver's cab. There, the factory-fitted two-cylinder Benz engine with 42 hp was also replaced with today's KHD engine with 50 hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diesel locomotive 34 has a mechanical three-speed transmission and coupling rods for power transmission to the first axle. The high weight in combined with the 50 hp engine makes Diesel Locomotive 34 extremely powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
