Such tipper carts were used in dyke construction, on the rubble railway after the world wars, in open-cast and mining operations and in brickworks. Loading was very easy using excavators or dumping devices, and at the unloading point the unloader simply tipped the load to the left or right by swivelling the tipper to the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some lorries were equipped with a brakeman's platform and handbrake crank, where the unloader could assist the train driver in braking to stop heavy lorry trains during transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
