Museum Day at the DFKM on “Open Monument Day” – September 14th, 2025
On 14 September 2025, you can ride from the historic Deinster railway station to the Lütjenkamp Museum and back through the Stade countryside in a 1919 army field railway carriage pulled by a 1927 Henschel steam locomotive . The journey, including a visit to the museum shed, takes approximately 50 minutes. Refreshments are available at the barbecue at the station and the kiosk in the museum shed. Departures are hourly from 10:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. . The open-air museum is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
At good weather conditions the open lorry train with historic diesel locomotive runs from Deinster station to the new end of the line every hour from 11:10 a.m. - 4.10 p.m.. It is possible to change between steam and open seat train in Lütjenkamp. (see Time table)
In the Lütjenkamp museum shed, you will find a special exhibition featuring various real steam engines on G gauge tracks in operation.
The hand lever trolley is available for physical exercise.
Watch the craftsmen at the museum service, all repairs and maintenance are performed by the volunteer members.
