The locomotive factory Gmeinder & Co., Mosbach/Baden, built our diesel locomotive 24 in 1944 according to the Heeresfeldbahn type sheet 50B.

On 19 August 1963, the Bremen construction company Siemer & Müller acquired the locomotive. After field railway operations had largely ceased, Siemer & Müller donated diesel locomotives 24 and 34 to the DFKM. On 20 June 1981, both locomotives were brought to Deinste on a low-loader.

Diesel locomotive 24 has a water-cooled KHD engine of type A4M517 with 4 cylinders and a 4-stroke diesel engine with 50 hp as well as a semi-mechanical transmission with electric starter. The driver's cab was built in-house for use on construction sites. In its original condition, there was only a "driver's cab cover", which was no higher than the engine front end.

The locomotive is ready for operation and was thoroughly restored in 2022.
